(Part 64)

COMMUNION FOR DIVORCED AND REMARRIED - 8

May 7, 2015

First it was the Church in Germany. Now it is the Church in Switzerland. Liberalism is ruling the day. “Clergy, catechists and active parishioners” support communion for those in irregular unions and support for those in same-sex unions. No wonder the Church in Switzerland, as in all of Europe, is weak and crumbling. They want to further erode whatever still remains.

They disagree with the “current doctrine of the Church with its rigid discipline.” Rigid discipline? Oh you mean, the teachings of Jesus? Like when he said divorce was never God’s way from the beginning? Or when he said that when you look with lust at a woman you have already committed adultery in your heart? Jesus was rigid, wasn’t he?

The liberals have lost the sense of sin, and just want to be nice, to be accommodating (including of sin), to not give offense, to be welcoming. Welcome to what? Certainly not the Church Jesus established and intended to be His light to the world. On the contrary, the liberals and modernists want to plunge the Church deeper into darkness.

Swiss Catholics call for same-sex partnerships, change in teaching on Communion

Catholic World News - May 07, 2015

Five months before the upcoming Synod of Bishops, the Swiss Bishops’ Conference has published a report summarizing the results of recent discussions by Swiss Catholics on marriage and family life.

Six thousand persons, the majority of them clergy, catechists, and active parishioners, took part in the discussions, which were held between January and March.

“The exclusion of remarried divorcees from the sacraments must be ended,” stated Walter Müller, the bishops’ information officer, as he summarized Swiss Catholics’ “very concrete requests to Rome.”

“Partnerships for gays and lesbians should have a place in the Church,” he added, as he noted that only a “small minority” of Swiss Catholics supported the “current doctrine of the Church with its rigid discipline.”
