Interestingly, Psalm 71 is entitled “Prayer in Time of Old Age.” Our community is 32 years old. Some of those the Lord called and used in the early years are now in the “departure lounge” or have gone on ahead. For a time since the restoration, many seemed tired. Evangelization stalled.

But our next generations are already in place. And we just need to see what God has been doing, and to know that we are on the verge of a more massive evangelistic work than ever before.

In 2007 the Lord pruned us and raised a remnant faithful to its authentic charism. This was important. Though it seemed that the split was a devastation, it was actually a foundation for God to build on. In the midst of darkness and grief, we looked forward with hope.

In 2008, the Lord emphasized that we are to rejoice in all circumstances. We are to rejoice always. We are to rejoice especially in affliction suffered for the cause of Christ.

In 2009, the Lord taught us to trust in Him, no matter what the circumstances we were facing. God had raised CFC and had called us to be part of its work. Though there will be many times where we would seem lost, uncertain, discouraged, frustrated, we were just to plod on. We could not yet see what the Lord had already planned.

In 2010, after instructing us about hope, joy and trust, it was time to move us a notch higher in appreciating His call. We were brought to the story of Job. There will be suffering and pain. We may not understand, but we are simply to know that God is just and righteous. We were being taught unconditional obedience. We were being prepared to embrace the cross.

In 2011, at the 30-year crossroad, the Lord assured us of His strength in carrying on our work. Through the Servant of the Lord oracle in Isaiah (49:1-7), the Lord described our very own life and mission, and reiterated our work of worldwide evangelization.

In 2012, the Lord bared to us the work and fight of this third millennium, the defining struggle in these end times. That is the culture of death versus the culture of life. The tsunami of evil was overwhelming the whole world. It was a diabolical assault on faith, family and life. From the restoration, we are to renew the family and to defend life.

This year, 2013, on the verge of massive evangelistic work, the Lord divulged two things. One, in this Year of Faith, we are to BE.LI.EV.E! The work is focused on the tripod of meeting Christ, living Christ, and sharing Christ. This is the LCSC Movement. Two, if we truly have faith in Jesus, and if we truly give of ourselves to him and his work, given the great need in the world today, we can do greater works.

Next year, 2014, is the start of the explosive growth in our work of evangelization. Since 2007, the Lord has worked to re-empower us, to re-energize us. Have we learned the lessons? If we have, then we will be greatly empowered to witness to the ends of the earth. We are saints, we are martyrs, we are warriors.

Such is the work of the New Evangelization in this third millennium.
