THE SERVANT GENERAL
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY
Today’s reading: Galatians 3:26-29
through faith you are all children of God in Christ Jesus.”
(v.26). If we have accepted Jesus into our lives and have
put our faith in him, if we “have clothed (y)ourselves
with Christ” (v.27b), then God Himself is our Father.
Is that not awesome?! We love our earthly fathers (well, most
of us do) with all their imperfections; how much more should
we love God who is perfect, totally self-giving, patient and
merciful, having the greatest plan for us to give us a future
full of hope, and awaiting the time when we finally live with
Him eternally in heaven (the greatest resort in all the universe!).
your children have disappointed you at times, have they not?
Being disobedient, straying from the right path, abandoning
values you taught them, etc. Your greatest prayer has been
for them to return, for you to be reconciled, for them to
be blessed through right and moral choices. Your greatest
joy is when your child who was lost is now found, and your
child who was dead is now alive.
Father oftentimes grieves, over His children who have gone
astray. Let us all cheer Him up. Let us resolve, as His wayward
children, to amend our lives, and return to His full embrace.
Then there will be great rejoicing in heaven. Then we would
have given God the greatest gift that He desires--ourselves.
Father in heaven, happy Father’s day!
